Kayak Down the Russian River

You start your day at 10:30 am at the Wohler Bridge parking area. We have a permit to open the big yellow gates, that indicate our meeting point.

Once there, you meet your guides, get fitted to the gear, get an orientation and safety talk, then your guides will launch you in two person kayaks for a quiet, almost wilderness paddle among the douglas firs, redwoods and other river side trees.

We paddle up the river along the gentle flow of the river. We keep an eye out for black turtles often seen sunning themselves on logs, snowy egrets, Blue Herons ducks and even the occasional bald eagle. If you’re lucky you may also see a family of river otters or bobcats.

We stop off at various beaches for swimming breaks and eventually to our jumping rock where brave souls jump into the warm water. The entire trip is 3 miles of easy paddling and no hazards.

We then return to the starting point and have our delicious picnic lunch in a nice redwood grove. We wrap it all up by 2 pm, plenty of time to visit any of the many local wineries.

We can can take you down a 9 miles stretch with a few more rapids and a longer paddle (4 hours).

This is a one way trip from Healdsburg to Forestville and requires a shuttle. Limited availability so call us to see if this option is available on the dates that you would like.

Private tours also available for $300 per person.
