Our Sonoma-Napa Top Ten List

View from the Sonoma Coast’s Peaked Hill on Getaway Adventures’ Sonoma Coast Hike

This is going to be a series of our version on the top ten fun and interesting things to do in Sonoma and Napa

Check back periodically for the series

Up first:

1)   Hike. Blind Beach to Shell Beach. One of the most spectacular views on the Wild Sonoma Coast. 6 miles round trip. Tip: hike up to promontory for a 360 degree view of the entire coast. Start at the Blind Beach parking lot. Walk south and get on the Kortum Trail. This trail takes you past Peaked Hill offering one of the most beautiful 360 degree views of the Wild Sonoma Coast.  Climb up and take a look. Amazing view! The hike takes you over to Shell beach and if you plan it right with the low tides, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best tide pooling in Sonoma County.

Simply return back via this great trail or continue up over the Pomo trail on to Red Hill Trail; the views from the summit of Red Hill are some of the best in Sonoma County. Cobb Mountain and Mount Saint Helena are on the eastern horizon. The Russian River canyon and estuary are visible to the north, which is really one of my favorite views. Bonus: Lunch at Cafe Aquatica on the water front in Jenner .
