October is a fantastic month on the coast, and today was a perfect example. We arrived on the coast to the last golden rays of sunshine greeting the day. Pelicans were flocking out from the refuge of the Russian River estuary, and a great blue heron was stalking the shoreline for her breakfast. [...]

The rainy weather of the weekend has passed to sunny clear blue skies this week. We are definitely into Indian Summer territory. The zinfandel vines are fading into a purple that is just fantastic. We had a couple out today; they were celebrating a birthday with a trip to the wine country. [...]

We had gorgeous weather today on our bike and hike tour of Napa.

Today we had a group of guests from Turner Broadcasting. We started out at the Calistoga Ranch, rode up the Silverado Trail and took the bike path to Calistoga. Two married couples, one each from KY and VA were on the road today. They did the full 18 mile loop. The day was glorious warm, but breezy and very comfortable to cycle. They found a fair amount of wine that they liked and made some wonderful purchases.

Hidden Wineries van tour. Two friends, Barb and Amy out to find some “undiscovered” wineries. We started off barrel tasting at Zichichi which both of them loved.
