Do you wonder where all of that wonderful bounty used in famous Napa Valley restaurants comes from? Well, Napa Valley’s Carneros region offers some of the best produce, fruit and wine anywhere –you’ll likely taste something produced in Carneros at one of the world renowned Napa eateries!
Besides the unique climate and great soil, creative local artisan producers have come up with some wild and wonderful organic and sustainable farming methods. Our goal is to take you behind the scenes to see where many of the top local restaurants get their produce; we also want to give you a fun and relaxed bike ride in a pristine area of Napa that is known for high quality yet less traffic—the perfect place for biking! Led by the best bike guides in the business, we’ll visit one to two wineries, or the local farm stand. We may also (depending upon availability) visit the olive oil specialist.
We meet everyone in Carneros at 10:00am (hotel pick up available from some local hotels). Once fitted and ready to ride, we cycle the short distance to our first stop: Talcott Olive Oil. We briefly tour their olive orchard and then we get to taste their high quality oil. Each guest even gets a complimentary bottle of their delicious 100% olive oil to take home with them!
We then hop on our bikes for a quick ride over to Adastra winery, an organic and sustainable winery with a deep history. We’ll visit their seasonal vegetable and rose gardens and even take a ride through the vineyards to check out some of the amazing views. We will taste their organic wine either inside at the kitchen table, or out in the historic 1800’s barn. During the tasting one of the owners will talk about why Adastra decided to go organic and the farming methods they employ in the vineyards.
From there we cycle another few miles over to a small farm for our lunch stop. Here we will tour the farm and then create part of our lunch from the garden. After lunch we cycle back towards our meeting point. Once we return back to the vehicles we bid you farewell.

There are some small rolling hills, but the cycling on this tour is fairly easy, and the landscape is beautiful! Bikers of all levels love riding in this area. We have people who haven’t biked in 20 years come on this tour and they have no problem.
You can sign up for the tour by going to http://www.getawayadventures.com/reservations. We hope to see you in the fall!
We went on this tour on Valentine’s Day. Tom was a wonderful guide and made the trip very enjoyable. He attended to all of our needs and took us to some really great places. We loved the olive tree farm! He was also very flexible and easily adapted to our needs. We feel this trip was a good value for the price!
What discount might be available for a group of 4? What is the weather like at the end of March?
